”Ewa Jönsson Hörtnagl is an artist whose austere paintings are reminiscent of fragments of huge building structures, or memorial palaces built from assorted experiences. To look at them is like running on a treasure of abandoned debris in the forest, though shaped by thought rather than by chance and transience.” (Johanna Gredfors Ottesen, HD)

"A formally tight and romantically vibrant painting - large canvases of often monochrome almost musical character, ambiguous as if they were states of mind, uniquely beautiful, sensual but unbound…" (Rolf Haglund)
